The Nuneaton Carnival resumed for the first time since 2019, the first in four years due to Covid 19. People in Action Day Opportunities group took the idea of the “Party Time” and created a float based on the classic Disney Alice in Wonderland’s mad hatters’ tea party. The group worked tirelessly making costumes, props and sets every Friday until the very last Friday before the carnival day. The group built big sculptural artwork, painted characters, stitched tablecloths and organised all the technical aspects. Our own Bedworth Community Gardens assisted the project by displaying their home-grown flowers and trees on the float.
The group’s efforts continued right up until the start of the carnival, with preparations to make the float look pristine, and some last-minute touches were made, under the watchful eye of our Activities Coordinator Martin Bliss and faces were immaculately painted by our staff member Kirie.
