At People in Action, we’re all about making a positive impact, and here’s your chance to be a part of something truly special. We’re on the lookout for a Horticultural Support Worker, and we’d love for you to join our team at Bedworth Community Gardens!

What we’re looking for is pretty simple – someone with a big heart, some horticultural know-how, and a dash of support work experience. The real key here is your ability to show kindness, compassion, and empathy when helping adults with various learning disabilities. You might be assisting with personal care and getting involved in a bunch of fun activities at our garden centre. Don’t worry if you’re new to the world of care; if you’ve got the right values, we’ll provide you with top-notch training and support.

And here’s a little bonus – our site doubles as a retail spot where the public can grab some fantastic plants, bedding, and seasonal goodies at great prices.

So, what will you be doing as a Horticultural Support Superstar?

• You’ll be there day in, day out, supporting our trainees and helping them achieve their goals.
• Team up with your fellow superstars to ensure everyone we support gets the care and attention they deserve.
• Jump into the retail scene and lend a hand with sales and tasks.
• Embrace seasonal excitement – think crafting hanging baskets and making Christmas wreaths.
• Get your hands dirty with horticultural tasks like pruning, watering, and keeping our spaces in tip-top shape (even the grass cutting!).
• And don’t worry, we’ve got your back with general maintenance tasks, including the greenhouse and polytunnels.

Oh, one more thing – you’ll need a valid UK driver’s license and some experience driving a van.

Here’s a sneak peek at your working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (with the occasional weekend shift).
