People in Action heavily endorse and operate in line with the personalisation agenda, using a variety of tools and best practice in person-centered planning to establish what is most important to an individual and what they hope to achieve while attending our horticulture therapy nurseries.
We provide day placements and a structured learning environment based on the abilities of the trainees. Our Horticultural Therapy Support Workers work on a one to one or group basis, tailoring activities to suit the individual. Trainees have the opportunity to develop horticultural skills, both practical ones such as propagating, pruning and plant care and theoretical ones such as plant identification, pest identification, disease identification, health and safety in a horticultural environment and knowing the correct tools to use.
